Easy Prompting Basics: Use This Framework

Right off the bat, my recommendation is Claude or Perplexity simply because ChatGPT has been lying. All the AI forums are up in arms with its misinformation so I prefer it for image generation and Claude for important documents.

Why AI for an artist like me? I went to an under grad program 2 years ago for AI. I heard about this new technology that needed creatives to be a part of it, not just techies. I was intrigued and signed up!

Plus I was the CMO for an AI start up company 5 years ago so I knew a bit about its magical powers.

I've been studying it for hours daily since. I'm obsessed about learning this new tool for making our lives simpler and more efficient. One thing I'm passionate about is HUMANIZING AI.

I'm a supporter of human connection, authenticity and genuine interactions. If you need assistance with using AI in your business, but don't want to lose the human aspect, I offer "Humanizing AI Audits" where I create a .PDF telling you exactly the changes needed and where. I can make the changes or you can manage this task yourself.

The difference between mediocre AI outputs and exceptional results isn't the AI model, it's how you communicate with it. After analyzing thousands of successful AI interactions, one pattern emerges: the most effective prompts follow a systematic approach that transforms vague requests into precise instructions.

Enter the CRISPE framework! A six-step methodology that turns anyone into an AI prompting expert.

Step #1: C - Context This is where you set the stage.

* What business or situation you're in
* What you're trying to achieve
* Any relevant background information
* Who your audience is

Without context, AI is flying blind. WITH context, it's like it can suddenly read your mind.

Step #2: R - Role Tell AI exactly who you want it to be. But here's the key - be SPECIFIC.

Don't just say "be a writer." Instead, say "act as a senior data analyst with 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry" or "act as a marketing director who specializes in luxury brands."

The more specific the role, the more targeted your results.

Step #3: I - Instruction This is your what and why

Break down:

* The exact task you need completed
* Why you need it done
* Any specific requirements
* The end goal you're trying to achieve

Don't assume AI knows what you want. TELL IT.

Step #4: S - Specification This is your "how"

Be crystal clear about:

* Format you want (bullet points, paragraphs, spreadsheet)
* Length requirements
* Tone of voice (professional, casual, technical)
* Any specific elements that must be included

Think of this as your quality control checkpoint.

Step #5: P - Performance Set your quality standards

* What does success look like?
* Any specific metrics to hit?
* What should be avoided?
* Any industry standards to follow?

This tells AI exactly how good "good enough" really is.

Step #6: E - Example: Show what good looks like

* A sample of what you're looking for
* Previous successful work
* Competitors' examples you like
* Specific elements you want to replicate

Examples are vital for AI.
